ROAMLABX / VAN INSULATION
GOOSE
LINER.
Duck Liner, upgraded.
Insulation, already bonded.
RoamLabX builds on Duck Liner with a pre-laminated insulation layer and adhesive backing. Designed to simplify your build, save installation time and avoid the separate, messy spray-adhesive step.

01 / CONSTRUCTION
Two materials.
Different jobs.
One simple installation.
Goose Liner pairs a Duck Liner base with a pre-laminated layer of lofted synthetic-fibre insulation. The complete finished assembly is approximately 2 inches (about 51 mm) thick. Each material does a different job, and they arrive bonded together for a simpler installation.

Closed-cell neoprene base
The approximately 3/8-inch Duck Liner base uses flexible, closed-cell sponge neoprene. It provides thermal separation at the vehicle metal and helps damp panel vibration. Properly sealed seams and edges also help reduce air paths to cold metal.
Integrated aluminum-foil facing
An aluminum-foil facing forms part of the Duck Liner base. Any radiant contribution depends on the complete assembly and an adjacent air space at the reflective surface.
Lofted synthetic-fibre insulation
Synthetic fibres hold air within the layer to slow heat flow and help absorb sound. This added insulation is already bonded to the Duck Liner base, saving the separate spray-adhesive step.
Peel-and-stick adhesive backing
The adhesive backing bonds the assembly to clean, dry, properly prepared van metal. Dry-fit and align each piece before pressing it into place.

Know what
you’re working with.
Roll dimensions match Duck Liner. Plan your cuts around your actual surfaces, openings and installation waste.
*Approximate material area before trimming, openings and installation waste. R-6 is the reported laboratory result for the material, not a certified rating for a completed van. Installed performance depends on the complete assembly and installation.
03 / INSTALLATION
Dry-fit first.
Commit carefully.
The backing uses a strong adhesive. Correct placement matters. Prepare and align every piece before pressing it into place.
Measure. Cut. Dry-fit.
Check each piece before removing the release backing. Make sure the metal is clean, dry and properly prepared.
Peel gradually.
Expose the adhesive gradually and position carefully. Align each piece before pressing it into place.
Press evenly.
Achieve full contact without trapped air. Follow the Goose Liner installation instructions.

THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY MATTERS
Don’t overlook moisture management.
The Duck Liner layer helps limit warm, moisture-laden interior air from reaching cold vehicle metal when installed as a continuous, properly sealed layer. Seal seams, edges and penetrations with compatible vapour barrier tape or sealant. Ventilation and humidity management remain important.

05 / HOW MANY ROLLS?
Real builds.
Practical guidance.
Choose your van and window layout for RoamLabX’s roll recommendation. These quantities come from installation experience and our guidance, not a conversion of Thinsulate footage.
Transit 148 High Roof, no cargo windows: sidewalls, sliding door, ceiling and rear doors.
On that build, the remainder of two rolls was available for the over-cab area, driver and passenger doors, and suitable cavities. Use offcuts only where appropriate; keep drains, mechanisms, wiring, safety equipment and required clearances unobstructed. Floor insulation is not included.
Use your own measured cut list ↓06 / MEASURED AREA CHECK
Measure your cuts.
Then plan your rolls.
Prefer to work from your own cut list? Use this optional area check alongside the installation-based guide above.
32.5 ft long × 3.25 ft wide (39 inches)
This checks material area only. It cannot guarantee that your pieces fit into the suggested number of rolls. Confirm every piece’s orientation and cutting layout within the 39-inch roll width.
What to measure
Add up the actual pieces you plan to cut, including any suitable door or extra surfaces. For rectangular pieces, length × width in inches ÷ 144 gives square feet. Account for window openings and curved panels in your cut plan.
Enter a separate waste allowance based on that plan. There is no default waste percentage: Goose Liner’s pre-laminated construction and roll width differ from loose fibrous insulation.
FarOutRide’s method is useful for measuring surfaces. Our Thinsulate sizing guide describes another material. Neither establishes a tested Goose Liner quantity for a particular van.
BEFORE YOU BUILD
A few practical answers.
Do I need to glue the insulation layer separately?
No. The Duck Liner base and synthetic insulation arrive pre-laminated. No separate spray adhesive is required to attach the insulation layer.
Is the R-6 value certified?
No. R-6 is the reported laboratory-tested value for the material and has not yet been certified. It is not a certified rating for an entire van.
Can I reposition it after it bonds?
Pulling bonded material back to reposition or remove it can separate its layers. Incorrect installation will cause delamination. Measure, cut and dry-fit first, and align the piece before pressing it down.
Does one roll cover my entire van?
Coverage depends on your vehicle, the surfaces you insulate, openings and your cut layout. Each roll provides approximately 105.6 sq ft of material before waste. Measure your own build rather than relying on a fixed van-size promise.
